Hey Everyone,
Week 8 was an extremely crazy week once again! This year has been like a wild roller coaster ride. By far the best year as a group since we started in 2008, thinking mostly due to the unusually cool water temperatures along with the fact we are all becoming better fisherman because of fishing league! Congrats goes out to Gulp This for hauling in 20 points to surpass No Muskie No Problem! for 1st place in the standings. Another congrats goes out to the G-Rods for catching a 34.5 inch northern to take the lead for the largest northern category. That northern also breaks a record for the largest northern ever caught in the league. No Muskie No Problem! hooked into about a 40 inch Muskie, which was not worth any points, but fun for the captain as it was his first real strain Muskie that he ever caught. I will post some pictures as soon as I can get them off my phone.
With one week left in the season, the standings have Gulp This in 1st with 98 points, No Muskie No Problem! in 2nd with 85 points, and U Smell Fish? in 3rd with 80 points. Another interesting statistic is that none of the top 3 teams lead any of the largest fish categories, so there is a chance that the money will be spread around nicely this year!
Next Tuesday we will be wrapping up the season on Bone Lake with take off at 5:30 pm and measure in at 8:30 pm. It will be an exciting finish to the season, but also a sad night as it means that the season will be over! WE NEED TO GRAB A GROUP PHOTO NEXT WEEK AS WE NEVER GOT ONE THIS YEAR! SO PLEASE STICK AROUND AFTERWORDS SO WE CAN GET ONE QUICK. Muskie Breath emailed me saying they are throwing in the towel for this year, but we can still get one with everyone else.
The Tuesday after Bone we will be meeting up at Jimmy's in Vadnais Heights for happy hour and money distribution. I will provide more details on this in next weeks write-up. Good Luck next week everyone and see you at the lake!
